The STNET History Files, a special segment with never seen before images and stories of the STNET history. This will be a daily release until the 22nd of September. Follow these releases by our RSS feed or Facebook page. A daily visit to our website is also an option.
The Sunday Edition:
March 9th 2009, STNET – Project V was introduced to the internet. With the same vision as “The Intrepid Database”, Project V was only limited to Star Trek Voyager related information.
This new start was also made possible by “Aquilo Media”. They helped to design the new STNET completely based on PHP-coding technology. All the other versions of STNET were built on the HTML-only technology. Due to this, the current version of STNET was much easier to maintain, so the STNET team could more focus on introducing new content to the site.
Our proudest segment on the website is the “Original Voyager” website. The website that Paramount released for Voyager in 1995. STNET was proud to introduce this segment to the site on November 30th 2010. 6 Months after the re-launch of the Official Star Trek website, that not included the 1995 website anymore. This means that currently the 1995 website is a STNET exclusive. Something to be proud of!
On the 25th of June 2011, STNET released its first refit update to the site. The white background was replaced by a black space image and the website frames where made more transparent. Also the vision of STNET was officially changed to include Star Trek Online information. STNET – Project V, all your Star Trek Voyager and Online information on one website.
At its last count (December 2012), STNET contained the triple amount of information when it released “The Intrepid Database” back in 2007. It sounds not much, but here we think that this as a great milestone in the STNET history. Keep in mind that STNET is still a fan-website (with no income only expenses), this will never change.
This was the conclusion to the “History Files” releases. STNET will continue on, and we hope not alone but with our viewers. Let’s make the upcoming 10 years even better!
